The library collection consists mainly of books, pamphlets, journals on library and information science and other related fields. Other collections - such as vertical file materials, theses, pamphlets, annual reports, UNESCO publications and newspaper - are maintained to supplement the book and periodical collections.
Books, monographs are placed on open shelves are referred to as the Circulation books. These are freely accessible to library users and may be borrowed for two weeks. The library collection is on open shelves except the reserve books, videotapes, etc. A control desk is maintained to safeguard library property. Inspection of books, packages and bags is done upon leaving the reading room. Bags must be deposited at the bag counter before entering the reading room. Presentation of a duly countersigned ID is required upon entrance to the library. The ID is non-transferable. It cannot be used by any other person.
